Beverley Community Lift

Beverley Community LiftWe are proud to include on our site, Beverley Community Lift (BCL). This is a charity that aims to reduce loneliness and social isolation by transporting people who cannot use public transport with ease.  This includes the frail, elderly, disabled (including temporary disablement due to surgery or an accident) or who live in rurally-isolated areas.  This service is not only for hospital, medical or dental appointments but they will also help with shopping, and people who have difficulty getting to work.  Users are not charged for the services, but donations are always welcome.  BCL also organises shopping trips and days out for people who otherwise would be housebound. We think that they do an amazing valuable service and hope that Going Together and our members will support this worthwhile charity.  They have wheelchair adapted vehicles, and service the whole of East Yorkshire.  Passenger lifts are provided by either volunteers with their own cars, or by minibus with a trained volunteer driver and assistant.

If any of our members want to get involved please call BCL 01482 868082 or visit their website, www.bclift.org.uk
